Fair Play Policy

Our Commitment to Poker Integrity

Poker Sense exists to make you a better poker player through training and education. We believe that improving your skills through study is a fundamental part of the game — but using any tool as a real-time assistant during live play is cheating, and we take this seriously.

We are committed to protecting the integrity of poker at every level, from home games to professional tournaments.

What Fair Play Means

Acceptable Use

Poker Sense is designed for:

  • Training sessions — practicing poker decisions away from the table, at your own pace
  • Post-session study — reviewing hands you’ve played and understanding the GTO-optimal strategy
  • Learning concepts — using AI coaching to understand poker theory, range construction, bet sizing, and strategy
  • Progress tracking — monitoring your improvement over time and identifying leaks in your game

Prohibited Use

You may NOT use Poker Sense:

  • During live online poker sessions — do not use the app while playing on PokerStars, GGPoker, partypoker, or any other online poker site
  • During live casino poker — do not use the app while seated at a poker table in a casino or card room
  • During home games — do not use the app while playing poker with friends for real money or otherwise
  • During poker tournaments — do not use the app during any tournament, whether live or online
  • As a real-time decision aid — do not look up specific hands, boards, or situations while actively playing poker in any format

The rule is simple: when cards are in play, Poker Sense should not be open.

How We Design for Training, Not Cheating

Poker Sense is architecturally designed as a training tool, not a real-time assistant:

  • Session-based access — the Service operates through structured training sessions, not on-demand single-hand lookups
  • Rate limiting — API access patterns are designed for training pace, not real-time play
  • No hand input — you cannot input a specific hand and board to get an instant GTO answer; the system generates training scenarios for you
  • Usage monitoring — we monitor usage patterns to detect behavior consistent with real-time play

These design choices are intentional. A tool that makes it easy to cheat is a tool that harms the poker ecosystem. We have built Poker Sense to be useful for learning and useless for cheating.

Detection and Enforcement

We actively monitor for usage patterns that suggest real-time assistance during live play. Indicators include but are not limited to:

  • Accessing the Service during known online poker tournament schedules with correlated timing patterns
  • Rapid, sequential lookups that match the pace of live play rather than study
  • API access from automated tools or browser extensions
  • Account sharing or credential distribution

Consequences

Violations of this policy will result in:

  1. First violation — account suspension and warning
  2. Repeated violations — permanent account termination without refund
  3. Severe violations (such as distributing tools built on our data for real-time use) — permanent ban, legal action if warranted

Cooperation with Poker Sites

Poker Sense supports the integrity efforts of online poker operators. We will:

  • Cooperate with investigations — if an online poker site contacts us regarding a suspected cheating investigation involving our Service, we will cooperate within the bounds of applicable law and our Privacy Policy
  • Share relevant usage data — upon valid legal request, we may share information about whether a specific account was active during a specific time period
  • Support industry standards — we support the development of industry-wide standards for poker tool use and fair play

We do not proactively share user data with poker sites. Cooperation occurs only in response to specific, legitimate investigations.

The Line Between Study and Cheating

We understand that the line between studying poker and using tools unfairly can seem blurry. Here’s how we think about it:

Study (acceptable):

  • Playing 20 training hands on Poker Sense during your lunch break
  • Asking the AI coach “why should I bet small on dry boards?” after a training session
  • Reviewing your weekly accuracy trends and working on identified leaks
  • Looking at GTO solutions for common spots to build intuition over time

Cheating (prohibited):

  • Having Poker Sense open on your phone while playing online poker on your computer
  • Looking up the GTO strategy for a specific hand while you’re in a hand at your home game
  • Using any data from Poker Sense to make a real-time decision during live play
  • Building tools or scripts that use Poker Sense data for real-time assistance

The distinction is timing: study happens before and after you play. Cheating happens during.

Reporting

If you become aware of someone using Poker Sense or any similar tool to cheat during live poker play, please report it:

Email: fairplay@pokersense.app

We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly.

Why This Matters

Poker is a game of skill, and the best way to improve is through study and practice. That’s what Poker Sense is for. But when someone uses a tool to gain an unfair advantage during play, it undermines the game for everyone at the table.

We want to be part of making poker better, not worse. That starts with being honest about what our tool is for and taking responsibility for how it’s used.
