About Poker Sense
The Problem
Advanced poker training has been dominated by tools built for professional grinders. They're powerful, but they're also expensive ($26-116/month or more), intimidating (walls of charts and numbers), and designed for people who already speak fluent poker theory.
If you're a smart recreational player who plays home games and wants to get better, these tools tell you what to do -- but never explain why. You're left staring at numbers like "Check 35%, Bet 33% pot 40%, Bet 75% pot 25%" with no idea what to actually do differently at the table.
Our Approach
Poker Sense combines proven optimal strategies with AI coaching that explains the reasoning the way a good friend who happens to be a great player would. After every training hand, tap "Ask Why" and have a conversation about the reasoning behind the optimal play.
The AI coach doesn't just recite theory. It connects the math to practical decisions: "At your home game, when you flop top pair on a dry board, a small bet is almost always better than checking or betting big." You can ask follow-up questions, explore what-if scenarios, and build real intuition over time.
The Technology
Our strategies are pre-computed using a state-of-the-art poker algorithm -- the same class used by the most respected tools in professional poker. Solutions cover millions of unique situations across positions, chip stacks, and community cards.
AI coaching is powered by Anthropic's Claude, with carefully engineered prompts that combine the strategy data with conversational teaching. The AI explains the data -- it doesn't compute it. This means you get the accuracy of a professional-grade algorithm with the clarity of a human coach.
Our Commitment
Poker Sense is a training tool, not a cheating tool. We've designed it for study and practice away from the table, and we take poker integrity seriously. Read our Fair Play Policy to understand our stance on responsible use.
We believe that making professional-level training affordable and accessible benefits the entire poker ecosystem. Better-educated players make for better games.
